Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve
Trailhead Hike: Banshee Reeks, VA
The recently created Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve did not take long to become a designated Virginia Treasure, and it is easy to see why.
Time & Location
Apr 29, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT
Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, 21085 The Woods Rd, Leesburg, VA 20175, USA
About the Event
$5. Long hike: 11½ mi. Moderate hike: 8½ mi. Less than 500 ft. elevation gain for both hikes.
Situated along the picturesque Goose Creek, its 20-odd miles of trails comb through the hills and dales covered with riverine vegetation, and the 19th-century farm in its center is, in addition, a source of historical interest. All hikers will take three different loops: the Goose Creek/Cathedral Trail loop, the Cathedral, Bankarm, Big Meadow, and Greenway loop, and the Tree, White Oak, and Cedar Valley Trail loop. Long hikers will take the West Arrowhead and Bluebell loop as well.
