About the Event
Sharon will describe her experience successfully hiking the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail through California, Oregon, and Washington in 2018.
Sharon will address preparations, gear, resupply, wildlife, trail culture, and safety. She will also share many of the trials and highlights experienced along the way. This should be a nice treat for any one interested in learning more about the PCT or how to prepare for a long-distance trail.
Sharon is a seasoned backpacker and hiker, as well as a longtime DCUL member and assistant organizer. She has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad.
This talk is part of the D.C. Public Library's "Trips of a Lifetime” series. Afterwards, we'll adjourn to a nearby pub to keep the conversation going.
