About the Event

$26. Long hike: 9½ mi., 800 ft. ascent, 900 ft. descent. Moderate hike: 7 mi., 600 ft. ascent, 700 ft. descent.

We’ll travel to Prince William Forest Park, an under-appreciated part of the National Park system just south of Washington, for a day of exercise and socializing. The moderate hike starts on the Burma Rd. and meanders along the North Valley, Birch Bluff and Crossing Trails. Long hikers join the route after an earlier stint on the Oak Ridge Trail and Old Blacktop Rd. Both hikes end at a reserved picnic pavilion. More on the potluck picnic will be posted on the Meetup page.
