$26 & bring park pass if you have one. Morning hike options: 4½ miles with 1200 ft. ascent/descent, or 6½ mi. with 1700 ft. ascent/descent. Optional afternoon hike: 5 mi. with 800 ft. ascent, 600 ft. descent.

For hiking, choose between two morning routes to the Maryland Heights Overlook, with its incomparable view of the town of Harpers Ferry and the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. For history, explore the town itself, a National Historical Park. For more hiking and history, opt for the afternoon trip to the Murphy-Chambers Farm Area, site of a Civil War Battle.
