Hike: Conestoga Trail, PA

$26. Long hike: 9½ mi., 2800 ft. ascent, 2300 ft. descent. Moderate hike 7 mi., 2300 ft. ascent, 1800 ft. descent.

Rescheduled from last April, this hike should be even better amid autumn Technicolor. Starting in the village of Pequea on the east bank of the Susquehanna River, we’ll all hoof it south on the Conestoga Trail, highlighted by Wind Cave (bring a flashlight), House Rock, and Tucquan Glen. Moderate hikers stop at the Pinnacles Overlook. Long hikers continue along Kelly’s Run and end in Holtwood. (Note: the hike is more difficult than the numbers indicate.)
