Hike: Austin Mtn. / Blackrock, Shenandoah Nat’l Park, VA

About the Event
$30 + park fee/pass. Long hike: 9 mi., 2500 ft. ascent, 900 ft. descent. Moderate hike: 7 mi., 2100 ft. ascent, 600 ft. descent.
See what they mean today! From Rt. 663 in the Shenandoah Valley, we’ll get a taste of the district’s wild terrain by ascending the Austin Mtn., Rocky Top and Big Run Loop Trails to the Appalachian Trail. There a southbound jaunt on the AT takes us to Dundo Overlook on the Skyline Drive, where the moderate hike ends; long hikers continue to Blackrock (super view!) and on to drive.
