About the Event
Long hike: Up to 11.5 miles, 2,200 feet ascent, 1,100 feet descent
Moderate hike: 9 miles, 1,900 feet ascent, 800 feet descent
We’ll hike the ridge, with its climactic Sunset Rocks vista, on a side-trip from our southbound jaunt on the Appalachian Trail from Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Then we’ll rejoin the AT southbound, with moderate hikers taking it as far as Shippensburg Road. Long hikers continue on the Appalachian Trail for a variable out-and-back extension.
