$26. Long hike: 11½ mi., 1600 ft. ascent, 2500 ft. descent. Moderate hike: 6 mi., 800 ft. ascent, 1300 ft. descent.
Our last hike of official summer takes us to familiar tramping grounds – the nearby Catoctins for an always-popular offering. From Mt. Zion Rd., we’ll head south on the Catoctin Trail through Catoctin Mtn. Park and stop at picturesque Cunningham Falls, one of Maryland’s iconic attractions. Then it’s on to Hunting Creek Lake, where the moderate hike ends, and across Bob’s Hill to the long-hike terminus at Manor Area Picnic Area.
