$36. Long hike: 12 mi., 3400 ft. ascent. Moderate hike: 7½ mi., 2200 ft. ascent
Moderate hikers start from Thompson Hollow Trail west of the park. Long hikers start at the Tuscarora Trail at Route 340 and meet the moderates at the Thompson Hollow Trail. All hikers ascend the Tuscarora-Overall Run Trail. The waterfalls and other beautiful scenery will be seen over Thompson Hollow throughout the ascent. After a steep ascent, all hikers go right on the Matthews Arm trail. Moderate hikers will descend the Beecher Ridge Trail and long hikers will descend the Weddlewood and Heiskell Hollow Trails. Both long and moderate hikers will reach the same connecting trail but at different points. Both groups of hikers then take the connecting trail to the Overall Run Trail and return to the bus.
