About the Event
$45. Hike mileage will vary with individual hiker’s preferences. Elevation gain is minimal for all routes.
Our destination is the north end of Assateague Island, the undeveloped 37-mile long barrier island – longest on the Atlantic Coast – that now is a national seashore. Activities include a stop at the Visitor Center, an organized walk on the beach (possibly seeing wild ponies) and, of course, the beach (with a bathhouse and a snack bar).
